REAL TALK & REAL ESTATE

Real estate exists for one reason only; people. Without the people there wouldn’t be a need for homes, businesses and properties of various function. So I ask myself after spending decades in the pinnacles of big business board rooms and in the trenches of tragedy in family affairs of my clients, what have I learned and what does my soul want to do with the experiences I have gained?
Put People back over Profit… & Love over Law.
It sounds cliche on the surface but when we as Americans lose the heartbeat at the root of why a things exists in the first place, the efforts we make, no matter how great will eventually end in ruin. We are witnessing a time in history within this country that’s never before been seen as America’s cities, landscapes and skylines are aging. And in markets saturated with Baby Boomers our elderly is suffering the lack of solutions as they are losing their homes. Some structures are built much stronger than others but if you look beneath the surface at the differentials between the lines there’s a story to be seen. This story starts with the why.
The greatest homes I’ve ever sold were born by an individual developer who phased his luxury homes to meet the personal needs of his family. He bought a large area of land and built one house on one small lot within his property that would be used for his wife, kids and grandkids to live in. He then, as his needs changed, built a second home with the same craftsmanship in care and sold the first home on the market. After some time had passed and his needs again changed. He downsized by biding a third home and sold off the second. Eventually an entire section of lakefront property in a masterplanned development area was composed of homes he had personally designed, built, lived in and sold for the enjoyment of another family.
I witnessed hurricanes, floods of historical magnitudes, freezes and acts of God in natural disasters unparalleled in historical account. And just as the nursery rhyme from our childhood mimicked, “They huffed and they puffed but they could not blow those houses down.” Why? Why did Dr. Huffman’s homes withstand all of these trials when no other homes or buildings in that area could stand? He built real estate for Love, not for money.,
My mission is to align people with properties that were built for the people. The soundness of stones is found in the stories that make up the beginnings of places once called HOME by those who build, enjoy and then pass on these beautiful mainstays in honor and confidence in what they convey to another; and to require such prerequisite in the building and development of projects I place my passion into. Those properties that are built with people in mind, not profit – and the legal solutions and developmental choices we make in transitioning the old buildings to the new will not only impact the lives our aging citizens but we’re setting the standard for how we as a people define what’s humane and acceptable for generations to come.
